HOMEVIEW TV · PRIVACY

Your household data stays private.

Updated October 18, 2026.

Google access and purpose

Homeview requests Google account email access to verify the intended account, and Google Home access to discover homes, rooms, devices, and device states. Google's Home permission also permits device control. Homeview's implementation uses discovery and state reads only; it does not send control commands. It does not request Gmail, Drive, or familiar-faces access.

Storage and sharing

The local Mac stores the Google OAuth configuration and refresh token in files restricted to the Mac user. Google access tokens and device snapshots are held in memory during normal operation. The paired TV receives device names, rooms, selected status readings, and timestamps over certificate-verified HTTPS. Its revocable key permits status reads only; it never receives the Google credential. Diagnostic copies created during development may remain in the owner's private project folder and can be removed by the owner.

Homeview does not sell data, use advertising or analytics services, send household data to this website, or use data for AI training. Google receives authenticated API requests under the permissions the user grants. Status data is displayed to people who can see the paired TV. Anyone with access to the Mac user account may be able to access locally stored credentials.

This informational website is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes ordinary website requests such as IP addresses and browser information to deliver the pages. It receives no Google Home credentials or household data from Homeview.

Your choices

You can revoke Homeview's access in your Google Account's third-party connections settings. The owner can stop the Mac service, remove its local authorization files and diagnostic copies, uninstall the TV app, or rotate its read key. Revocation stops future Google access. Removing the software does not delete devices from Google Home.

For questions, contact the owner who configured this private installation, using the support email shown on the Google authorization screen. Homeview's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
